The relationship between an Illustrator and an Agent is a special one and not everyone is suited for each other.
Do your research and source out the ones that you feel would be an honest match with you and your vogue..
Search on Google, Bing and Yahoo
Most illustrators have websites with a variety of their best work. If you’re looking for an illustrator that lives or creative works near you, you can try narrowing your search by adding your location to your search query. (e.g ‘
illustrator in New York’). You can also try to narrow down your search based on style (e.g botanical, children, environmental, instruction, still life, Food and etc..)
Online Illustration directories
Another way of finding illustrators is to seem through an illustration directory. These are print and online listings that illustrators pay to be included in. There is no charge to you because the consumer, to seem through these directories.
Agents
Illustration agents represent multiple illustrators in their agency. Agent’s commands a premium, but can offer added peace of mind to a client by helping to project manage the illustrator. Additionally, an agent can help narrow your search by recommending illustrators to you, or suggesting a suitable replacement if your preferred illustrator is not available. (e.g: Traffic Creative Management, good illustration agent in New York)
Social Media
Social media is a great way to discover talent. Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest and Instagram are great to check out as illustrator’s agency upload new work there. LinkedIn is a personal favorite for me as well as I use it to make contact with other professionals.
