Congratulations to artist Jason Brooks for winning the prized V&A Illustration Award for his London Sketchbook. Organized by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the V&A Illustration Awards are held yearly and recognize exceptional work in the field.
Born in London, Jason began drawing and painting at a young age, receiving his first freelance commissions in his early teens. He graduated with a BA Honors degree in Graphic Design and Illustration from St Martin’s College of Art in London where he began working regularly for British Vogue after winning the Vogue Sotheby’s Cecil Beaton Award for Fashion Illustration. After completing his Master of Arts Degree in Illustration at the Royal College of Art, Jason landed a series of assignments illustrating at the Couture fashion shows in Paris for The Independent Newspaper. Following that experience Jason routinely worked for the likes of Visionaire and Elle Magazine. Jason has also worked for The Sunday Times, The Guardian, InStyle, Cosmopolitan and Conde Naste Traveler.
Jason collaborates with clients across the globe. Some clients include Jo Malone, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Guerlain, L’Oreal, Ritz Hotels, Verve Clicquot, Coca Cola, Audi, Mont Blanc and Mercedes Benz. Jason resides in Brighton, England.
